Recently, new-comer to entertainment circle Ma Rui La’s name’s frequently mentioned. However, her fame is associated with the shocking clip of Angela Chang’s (Zhang Shao Han) beat-up in a club published online on 9Aug. See here.

With the role of the ‘basher’, Ma instantaneously became the target of public criticism. Said clip sparked off much discussion among netizens, some sharp-eyed netizens even concluded this as a thorough piece of ‘stir-up news’ almost immediately. However, a set of photographs on Ma’s blog half-unreveled the mastermind of this issue. On 1Sep, Ma finally could no longer hold the psychological stress she’s enduring and pleaded for innocence on her blog that she didn’t beaten anyone up and admitted that everything was a stir-up for news coverage on the part of the record company.

Act 1: The clip

See here.
After searchings by netizens, the long-haired lady beating up ‘Angela’ was identified as new-comer Ma Rui La.

Act 2: Suspense

What does Ma and Chang has that caused Ma to slap Chang ruthlessly in public? Some netizens guessed that Angela Chang using an unorthodox method to boost popularity for her album release in September. However, this attracted more rebuttal from other netizens. The incident happened in a club. Due to the dim lightings, the clip was blurred. Except for the scene where Angela passed by before the camera which is slightly recognizable, Angela’s barely recognible. Many netizens held doubts towards the clip. Meticulous netizens even pointed out several major faults of the clip, and couldn’t understand why Chang would gain news coverage from being beaten.

Besides, Chang’s record company confirmed that the clip’s fake. During this period of time, Angela’s been in Taipei for the recording of her new album. How could she have appeared in China?

Act 3: Horror

Chang’s company’s answer calmed the nerves of fans and tuned down the incident for some time. Nonetheless, on 19Aug, the other party in this incident, Ma Rui La blogged some photographs of her being threatened, such as her door being painted with words like ‘lowdown’ and ’die’ with red paint, even ‘Ma Rui La’s tomb’ is placed in front of her house. These photographs caused another sensation on the internet. However, this time round, Ma self-revealed on her blog that the photos and news are all a stir-up for news coverage. A number of netizens identify this as another act of attention-seeking as other than clearing her link with beating anyone up in the heading, the remaining content’s filled with threaten photos suspected to come from Chang’s fans. The heading of issue once again gained suspicions. Nevertheless, the mastermind of the ‘beat-up’ half-unrevelled.

Truth: Ma didn’t beat anyone up, Chang wasn’t beaten.

Facing netizens endless criticisms, Ma who has always been silent regarding the issue could no longer endure. On 1Sep, she published a wordy blog entry ‘I didn’t beat Angela Chang up! It’s all a stir-up from the company!’ This time round, Ma tried to tell the truth of the entire issue, hoping to overturn her image of a ‘bitchy woman’ with her sincerity.  Ma admitted to being subjected to immense pressure after the incident and could not bear to see her parents affected by this issue.

In fact, in this sensational beat-up issue, Ma is just a spectator. She said she’s not the basher and what’s most funny’s that she only knew of the incident from her parents. ‘When I looked it up online, all I found was discussions of me beating people up and attempting to stir news. I was stunned.’ When she called the company did she know that this is truly a specially arranged stir-up by the company.

To prove her innocence, Ma even unreveled the truth behind the incident. The person beaten up wasn’t Angela Chang but a participant in a competition who looks a little like Chang. Therefore the company made use of this to invite many people to put up an act of a birthday celebration then asked a behind-the-scene worker about the same fit as me to beat the fake Angela Chang up. This is all fake hoping to stir up attention from the media and netizens.’

Ma’s company called this a successful stir-up because many people now know of a singer named Ma Rui La. According to the company, Ma knew nothing of it and everything except the confession on Ma’s blog was arranged by the company, including the photographs.

I’m skeptical about the part of asking an assistant of similar height and fit to beat Chang up. Look, few even know of Ma Rui La before the incident. How could they have identified her just from her height and fit from a blurred clip if the face’s just a teeny weeny bit identical or not identical at all? There are so many identical with her figure. Anyway, this stir-up has obviously caused more negative than positive influence on Ma. What’s with the trust issue and all. No one likes to support a celebrity whose a liar. Especially a new-comer to the circle.
